About the Role

As the VP, Marketing, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing initiatives to position our company as the leader in high-quality, affordable and permanent CDR. You will lead all marketing efforts including public relations, driving brand awareness, lead generation, and market analysis.
You will collaborate closely with all functions in the company, in particular product development and sales. Your strategic thinking, innovative ideas, and ability to build strong relationships will be critical in driving the growth and success of our business. At CO280 we believe everyone is a “player-coach,” meaning we all manage & lead, but we also all roll up our sleeves and execute on our goals directly.

About the Company

We are a leading project developer of carbon negative projects dedicated to radically altering the trajectory of climate change. Our mission is to lead the world in carbon dioxide removal that sets the highest standards of permanence, quality, affordability at scale. We partner with industrial emitters, technology companies and CO2 transport and storage companies to develop, finance, own, and operate large-scale carbon capture and sequestration projects throughout North America. Our projects will capture and sequester 10 million tons per year by 2030. We sell CDR – Carbon Dioxide Removals – as our primary revenue source. As the Vice President of Marketing, you will play a crucial role in driving the company's marketing strategy, enhancing brand visibility, completing market analysis, and accelerating market adoption of our industry leading CDR.

Responsibilities


 

  • Marketing Strategy: Develop and implement the company's marketing strategy, aligning it with business goals, to drive market adoption of our Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) product. 

  • Market Analytics: Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the carbon capture market, including industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape, to inform marketing strategies and tactics. 

  • Lead Generation: Develop and execute lead generation programs to drive sales growth and pipeline development for our CDR product. 

  • Sales Enablement: Work closely with the sales team to develop sales enablement tools, including presentations, case studies, and sales collateral, to support their efforts in closing deals. 


  • Consistent Message: Drive brand development and management, ensuring consistent brand positioning and messaging across all marketing materials and communications. 


  • Collaboration: Collaborate with product development teams to ensure effective product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies for our CDR platform, as well as with sales teams to continue to iterate and define key messages. 


  • Budget Development & Management: Create and manage the marketing budget, allocating resources effectively to maximize return on investment. Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed to optimize marketing effectiveness and ROI. 


  • Execution: Define and execute comprehensive marketing campaigns across various B2B channels, including digital marketing, content marketing, webinars & events, and public relations. 


Qualifications

  • Proven experience (8+ years) in marketing leadership roles, preferably within the clean energy or environmental technology sectors. 


  • Strong understanding of the carbon capture industry, climate change, and clean energy technologies. 


  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies and campaigns that drive brand awareness and generate demand. Results-oriented. 

  • Experience in fostering collaboration, and driving results. 

  • Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable marketing plans. 


  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 


  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiences in written and verbal forms. 


  • Proven experience in digital marketing, content marketing, and lead generation strategies. 


  • Passion for sustainability, climate change mitigation, and environmental stewardship.
